Custom knife making process—how it works
1Initial consultation
We'll start with a conversation to explore your vision for the knife. I'll ask questions about its intended use, your cooking or outdoor activities, the types of knives you already own, and the materials that inspire you. Even details like your grip preference or hand size help guide the design process. Based on this, I'll provide a general price range for the knife you have in mind.
2 Design Phase
Once we've established a clear concept, I'll draft a detailed design for your knife. This includes visual mockups featuring various material and style options for the blade and handle. The materials showcased will be from my current stock, so you'll know exactly what will be used in your knife. Together, we'll refine the design until it perfectly aligns with your vision.
3 Deposit
After finalizing the design and materials, I'll provide a confirmed price and request a 50% deposit to secure your spot in my order book. Once the deposit is received, the crafting process begins.
4 The build
With the design set, I'll start forging your knife. This process typically takes 8-12 weeks, during which I'll share regular updates with photos, showing the progress step by step. If you'd like, I can also post updates on social media and tag you, or keep it private—it's entirely your choice.
5 Completition and delivery
When your knife is finished, I'll send an invoice for the remaining balance. After payment, your knife will be securely packaged and shipped via priority, fully tracked and insured. Your custom knife will soon be in your hands, ready to serve as a treasured tool for years to come.
